The Significance of Surgical Oncology in India

The Significance of Surgical Oncology in India

Surgical oncology is that field of medical science that is dedicated to the study, diagnosis and treatment of cancer disease. One of its main research method is doing clinical trials. This type of trials is related to conducting research on new methods to cure cancer disease. There are plenty of oncology research clinics all over the world. All these clinics are registered and checked by the government of their respective countries. This is done to protect volunteer patients from abuse and malpractices. While patients sign up waivers against some negative results then that may arise from the task of testing. The protection of law that the patients get is sufficient against the harmful results that come due to incompetence and malpractice.
Normal medical practice and life insurance might not be able to cover potential problems in case of alternative cancer surgery. This condition also arises as a result of clinical trials. Moreover the centralized board of cancer surgery where oncology trials are registered may safeguard itself against the possibility of the insurance. To a least done they go over the conditions of the waiver with the volunteers to point any potential irregularities. If the patients still feel to take on the risk then this decision is upto them.
With keeping these safety measures in mind many cancer patients are flocking to oncology clinics to get volunteered for research. Their reasons are wide and of various kinds. For one thing while the clinics use treatment methods that are varied from the norms are used very often by the medical research community. In these clinical trials the patients get free treatment as compensation because they are being used as testing samples. For another reason many cancer patients feel that current oncology treatments are not sufficient and thus they choose to take the risk by themselves as testing samples in the hope that their clinical trial will be able to find a way of curing their cancer disease.
