The Lalit Ashok employees said that it had
organized an awareness session for its women staff on the risks of breast
cancer.
"The hotel had invited Dr Jayanti S
Thumsi, a senior consultant, breast oncologist and in charge of the breast
oncology department at the Global Cancer Institute, BGS Global Hospital to
chair the session, where she shared a detailed insight on the cause,
prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of breast cancer," one of them
said.
The session also emphasized that it is
imperative for every women to undergo yearly mammogram test and monthly breast
self examination which can help in early detection.
Thumsi further said: "In today's life
it is very evident that women do not give significance to their health due to
multiple roles they play not only at home, but also at workplace. There arises
a need for every organization to take onus to educate and engage its employees
with such awareness program to empower them physically and mentally. I
appreciate this initiative taken by The Lalit Ashok on this remarkable
day."
Amit Samson, general manager, the Lalit
Ashok, said that the hotel has always engaged its employees and guests on
various awareness activities which helped them achieve a change in their lives,
organization and the nation.
"Similarly, to merit our women
employees for their equal contributions to the organization's growth, the
management decided to carry out this awareness activity to keep them conscious
about their health."
The session received an overwhelming
response from the participants. Dr Thumsi requested each and every participant
to spread the message of "our health is our responsibility" among
their family, relatives, friends and community they live in.
